Promoting worker well-being lies at the heart of the ICTI Ethical Toy Program (IETP). Supporting factories to deliver improvements that not only benefit factory workers – but also deliver positive business outcomes – is central to our mission to build better lives for workers and stronger industry through ethical production.

On Friday the 24th of February, UNICEF Representative to China Ms. Amakobe Sande visited IETP Certified factory, Golden Cup Printing Company in Dongguan, China.We thank Ms. Sande and UNICEF for their support and for their work on Family-Friendly Policy, which has enabled us to develop this ground-breaking IETP Family-Friendly Factory Program.

Our new website brings fresh content, features, and resources for our members, with a dynamic new design to reflect our refreshed Ethical Toy Program branding and our core purpose: delivering better lives for workers. Available in both English and Chinese, the site is optimized to work across multiple platforms - ensuring a good user experience for companies, factories, and workers accessing the site on their tablets or mobile devices.

Migrant parent workers are particularly impacted by COVID-19. Many face extended periods of separation from their children as travel restrictions, reduced income, and increased work pressures further limit opportunities for families to connect and spend time together.

London, UK, March 13 2024: Today, Parliament approved its position on revamped EU rules on toy safety with 603 votes in favour, 5 against and 15 abstentions. The text responds to a number of new challenges, mainly stemming from digital toys and online shopping, and converts the existing directive into a directly applicable regulation.

Our 2019 Family-Friendly Spaces program officially launches on the 8th of July.

Launched in 2020, the ICTI Ethical Toy Program (IETP) Social Impact Assessment Program (SIA), was developed to provide a trusted method of evaluation, cost effectively and efficiently, of a company’s ability to manage labor standards risks.

The 2-day Hybrid event will welcome over 5,000 participants listening to over 100 global speakers discussing the future of sustainability.

In 2019, we opened 30 Family-Friendly Spaces accommodating over 1,100 children and 1,240 workers.

In the summer of 2019, 30 factories are participating in our Family-Friendly Spaces program. These factories have transformed spaces in the premises into fantastic childcare facilities for the children of their workers. The factories hire specialist teachers and supervisors to take care of the children during the workday and they provide opportunities for the children to learn and play.
