Family-Friendly Spaces – 10 Years of Impact Celebration Event

On 29^th August 2025, the Ethical Supply Chain Program hosted a celebratory event in Guangdong, China bringing together stakeholders of the Family-Friendly Spaces program to celebrate its 10 years in operation.

The event hosted over 100 supporters at the Senbola Resort in Qingyuan, Guangdong and was an opportunity to celebrate some of the incredible impacts the program has created since 2016.

The anniversary event celebrated the achievements of ESCP’s Family-Friendly Spaces program which provides free childcare for supply chain workers in communities and factory campus facilities. The initiative began as a pilot at 2factories in China, since 2016 it has scaled to nearly 100 factories in China& Vietnam.

Attendees heard from a wide range of stakeholders at the event, sharing impact stories including that of Hao Mengchen, who first attended the program at just four years old and this year, attended the program for the 10^th time at nearly 14.

Since 2016, the program has supported over 10,000 children and their working parents, producing measurable social and business benefits:

Worker Impacts:

• 99% of workers said their child had a safe place to go in the summer
• 99% of workers said a factory participating in Family-Friendly Spaces is more attractive
• 93% of workers said they didn’t need to take annual leave to care for their children over the summer holidays
• 93% of workers said they no longer worry about their child’s safety while they’re at work
• 97% of workers said they feel happier at work because of the program

Factory Impacts:

• 98% of managers said the program improved worker satisfaction
• 85% of managers said the program reduced the number of annual leave requests made by employees this summer
• 98% of managers plan to run the program the following year
